DATA CENTER MURAL
A mural composed of intricate components inspired by the inner workings of a data center, all powered by two electrifying arms pulling the strings behind the scenes.
Concept & Inspiration
I began with research into data centers, drawing inspiration from different cables and connections to bring the piece together inside the company’s logo.
The arms were inspired by the contractor’s role in managing and overseeing the construction on the project, ultimately charging the project, hence the electricity surrounding them. They act as the source and drive behind the data center, and I wanted to portray that to remind everyone that views the mural of their strength and resilience in such a technically complex project.
For color palette, I took aspects of their navy and lime green colors and brought in a mix of purples and blues.
01.
Concept Exploration – I sketched up multiple designs, providing the client a variety to choose from and letting them approve a favorite design
02.
Design Selection & Refinement – Further developing and finalizing that design, I ensured I was prepared to transfer my design into the space.
03.
Space Visualization – I created a digital render to accurately depict how the mural will look in the environment, getting final approval of the design.
04.
Site Assessment & Setup – Arriving at location, I get a gage for the space and protect the area with a drop cloth, get my paints prepped, and start on the mural.
THE FINAL PRODUCT
I only used 4 paint colors to create this mural, mixing colors to create a unified mural.
LIGHT BLUE, DARK BLUE, PURPLE, & LIME
I enjoyed showing some of the team members my methods of mixing the paints. My favorite aspect of this project was team members, as well as engineers and workers from the work site recognizing different designs I pulled into the mural from the data center itself!
